Dated notes from the ArchaeoLocus research process: project updates, coordinate and identity audits, methodological decisions, publication progress, corrections and results that weaken as well as strengthen a hypothesis.
Journal entries are working records, not substitutes for formal papers. Where an item is provisional, exploratory, corrected or superseded, that status should be stated explicitly. Major research claims remain governed by the corresponding project and publication records.
Record the process. Preserve important decisions, adverse tests and corrections.
Separate status from significance. A dated note may document useful work without constituting a publication claim.
Link back to evidence. Substantive entries should connect readers to the relevant research, method, maps or publication record.
